Bowen Center to open health clinic in LaGrange
A ribbon cutting and public tours will celebrate the opening of a Bowen Health Clinic in LaGrange on March 21 at 11 am.
Co-located with the outpatient office at 836 N. Detroit St., the new clinic will continue Bowen Center’s move towards integrating physical health care with mental health care and addiction recovery services for patients, no matter their ability to pay.
“Bowen Center opened an office in LaGrange 14 years ago to care for the mental health of this community,” said Robinn Mitchell, Director of Bowen Center – LaGrange. “As health care services are leaving communities in northeast Indiana, it is a privilege to be able to fill the gap by adding primary care to our services and care for patients’ bodies and minds, regardless of their insurance status or ability to pay.”
Understanding that the integrative healthcare model would improve and extend lives, Bowen Center began adding primary care services at its existing locations in 2020. By April 11, all Bowen Center locations will offer primary health care in addition to their mental health services.
“People with a mental illness have shorter lifespans than those without a mental illness, and we want to do something about that,” said Dr. Rob Ryan, Bowen Center president and CEO. “Offering our patients high-quality primary health care in the same office where they are receiving their mental health care means a team of professionals is looking out for them, body and mind, and that accessibility will save lives.”
The addition of the Bowen Health Clinic will offer patients easy access to primary health care in addition to mental health care, behavioral health care, addiction recovery treatment, and life skills coaching services. This integrative or one-stop-shop approach to providing healthcare can make an immediate positive difference in the lives of LaGrange County residents.
The public is welcome to attend the ribbon cutting and to tour the facility. There will also be light refreshments and giveaways.
