Bowen Recovery Center open house to celebrate 5 years of Opioid Treatment

Bowen Recovery Center will open its doors to the public to celebrate 5 years of providing opioid treatment and its patients in recovery. The Open House will feature a brief news conference at 1 p.m. with educational tours to follow along with refreshments, giveaways, and more.

Bowen Recovery Center was opened in response to a request from the Indiana Division of Mental Health and Addiction in the hopes of turning back a tsunami of opioid-related overdoses. The Center specializes in Medication Assisted Treatment for people with moderate or severe Opioid Use Disorder.

Patients come to the Center every day to receive methadone to treat their physical withdrawal symptoms and cravings. They also receive on-site addiction recovery counseling services and additional medical care. Patients also get help with insurance navigation, food, housing, and other necessities required for proper recovery.

Open 365 days a year, serving 438 patients a month, the Bowen Recovery Center has treated nearly 1,700 people over the past five years.
