Pinwheel Garden to mark Child Abuse Prevention Month

Bowen Health Clinic will join with SCAN, Allen County CASA, and the Indiana Department of Child Services to plant dozens of pinwheels to raise awareness of child abuse, at noon, Friday, April 26th, at Courthouse Green at the Allen County Courthouse.

The public is invited to attend the event in recognition of Child Abuse Prevention Month.

Following brief remarks, those assembled will “plant” pinwheels in the lawn to show their dedication to raising awareness and promoting solutions that address the causes of child abuse.

Representing the joyful childhood all children deserve, the pinwheel was introduced in 2008 as a national symbol for child abuse prevention. It also represents efforts to change the way our nation thinks about prevention by focusing on community activities and public policies that prioritize the prevention of child abuse and neglect.
