Bowen Center event will build beds for area kids

Sharing an understanding that many children in our community sleep on couches and even floors and that all kids deserve a safe, comfortable bed of their own with warm bedding and a pillow, Bowen Health Clinic is hosting Kosciusko County organizations and leaders for a build day to produce 20 beds that will be delivered to area children in need.

Working with the organization Sleep in Heavenly Peace, on Saturday, April 20, volunteers from Bowen Health Clinic, Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA), Fellowship Missions, and Victims Assistance Group will gather to build the beds. Also in attendance will be Warsaw Mayor Jeff Grose, Sheriff Jim Smith, and Judge Karin McGrath.

“Many of the patients we serve have a difficult time making ends meet and sometimes that means they may live without some things that we may take for granted,” said Michael Murphy, Bowen Health Clinics Senior Director in Kosciusko County. “Being able to provide a nice bed for children who don’t have one in our community can make a big difference in their lives.”
